How to Re-activate and Extend Your 180-Day Windows Trial

Last updated on Jan 28, 2025

Step 1: Open PowerShell as Administrator

To begin, you need to run commands with administrator privileges. Here's how:

  1. Press the Windows key, type PowerShell, and when it appears, right-click on it.

  2. Select Run as administrator from the context menu.

Step 2: Run the Re-arm Command

Once PowerShell is open with administrative privileges, enter the following command to re-arm your trial:

slmgr -rearm

This command resets the 180-day trial counter and allows you to extend your trial period.

Step 3: Reboot Your System

To complete the process, reboot your computer for the changes to take effect. A restart is necessary for the re-arm to be fully implemented.

Step 4: Check Your Current License Information

After rebooting, you can check the status of your Windows license, remaining trial period, and rearm count by using the following command in PowerShell:

slmgr -dlv

This command will display detailed information about your current license, including the number of re-arms remaining and how much time is left on your trial.

Step 5: Activate Windows

If you're ready to activate your copy of Windows or just want to ensure your system is properly activated, you can use the following command:

slmgr -ato

This command will trigger the activation process using your license key, if available.

By following these steps, you can easily reset your Windows trial period and extend your use of the operating system. If you have any issues or need further assistance, don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.
